LIFE WITH MONSTERS
This book is about monsters but it is also very much about process. I did not start out with a goal to make a book called “Life with Monsters.” I did not even start out with a goal to make a bunch of images featuring monsters. I was just doodling. Each drawing is its own little story.
I love monsters and I love inventing them. This is a simple whimsical look at what would happen if monsters, invented or inspired by a classic, lived with us.

PROCESS EXPOSED
As a child, when I was bored or alone I loved to imagine monsters around me. I would imagine them in all shapes and sizes, with different abilities and physical attributes, however all too often my imagination would get the best of me, especially at night. I would like to say that the fear of monsters disappeared as I grew up, but I think that it lingered a lot longer than I am comfortable admitting. Eventually the fear turned into something else - the monsters that I was afraid of slowly became the centerpieces of the stories that I would create and draw.
I love monsters, and I love inventing them. This is a whimsical look at what would happen if monsters, invented or inspired by the classics, lived with us.
